The deck strives to paint an honest portrait of nature: it doesn't shy away from dark themes but instead embraces them, weaving both darkness and light together to tell a story of the human spirit.

The Darkness of Light Tarot aligns with the natural calendar (Wheel of the Year), and each suit corresponds with a particular season. Blades correspond with Winter, Wands with Spring, Cups with Summer, and Coins with Autumn. Each suit was painted in its designated season, with the Major Arcana being the first and last cards to be created.

There are a number of repeating elements and patterns, and a sense of time flowing throughout the deck. I strived to pack as much detail and meaning into each card as possible, while retaining the strong sense of narrative and archetypal meaning found in the tradition of the Universal Tarot.
