Carnelian

“Rise with the sun, seize the day, conquer your goals.”

- Unknown

Colour: Various shades of Red, Orange and Yellow

Chakras: Root, Sacral and Solar Plexus

Effect: Energising

Think of Carnelian like your own personal trainer. It will boost your energy, your motivation and your confidence, helping you to fire up and smash your goals for the day. If you need an energetic pick-me-up, Carnelian can replace your cup of coffee and can also help to boost your immune system.

Carnelian is the stone of health and vitality. It activates our life force energy and increases our inner and outer strength. Primarily associated with the Sacral chakra, Carnelian is also a stone of fertility and creation, helping you direct your passions towards bringing new things to life. To that end, Carnelian helps with fertility (orange Carnelian for females and red Carnelian for males), PMS and low libido. Carnelian’s connection to the lower three chakras means that it is a great healing tool for lower back pain, and it also helps stimulate metabolism and digestion.

Carnelian ignites a spark wherever it goes. Whether you want to add some energy and spice to the bedroom, the office, or your exercise routine, Carnelian will fill you with the passion, creativity and vigor needed to succeed. Carnelian will hit differently depending on the colour - red hues connect to the Root chakra and will increase strength and endurance; orange hues connect to the Sacral chakra and support creation in all forms; and yellow hues connect to the Solar Plexus and promote self-confidence and willpower. When you are drawn to a specific piece of Carnelian, the dominant colour will indicate where you need to restore balance in your energetic body.

The Ancient Egyptians associated Carnelian with the setting sun; but to me, Carnelian is the epitome of a sunrise, with the fire of the sun igniting you to conquer each new day:
